The Project

I love hats. So out of that love, I decided to create a database of every hat worn by every Major League Baseball franchise that has ever existed. In order to do this massive project, I use the three following sources:

I want to initially keep this project to hats that have been worn in regular season games (no stars and stripes hats yet), but will hopefully expand it once that's finished. I decided to use a current 59Fifty template for all hats to avoid complications with different cap styles from different eras, but I know that's not how it actually was. I also omitted all side-cap logos. Any help with colors, logo errors hat confirmations, missing hats, etc. will be greatly appreciated, and credit will be given.

And.... Off we go into the history of MLB hats!

Florida Marlins Franchise

The Florida Marlins Franchise began in 1993, and chose the color scheme of Black, Marlin Blue, Silver, and White, which is still used to this day. Teal was a major part of the Marlins' scheme, but it quickly became a secondary color to black by 1996.
